About The Kildaire Farms Communities
Kildaire Farms
Kildaire Farms isn't just one of Cary's most recognizable neighborhoods—it's where modern community planning in North Carolina began. Developed in the 1970s as the state's first Planned Unit Development (PUD), Kildaire Farms introduced a new vision of neighborhood living by thoughtfully blending homes, schools, parks, lakes, greenways, shopping, and open space into one connected community.
Designed with walkability and community at its core, the neighborhood quickly became a model for thoughtful suburban development—and remains one of Cary's most beloved places to call home today.
Kildaire Farms II
As Cary continued to grow, the vision expanded with the creation of Kildaire Farms II, building upon the same principles that made the original community so successful. Together, Kildaire Farms I and II encompass nearly 1,000 acres and are home to more than 1,100 households, connected by miles of greenways, scenic lakes, neighborhood parks, and convenient access to shopping, dining, and top-rated schools.
More than 50 years after the first homes were built, Kildaire Farms continues to set the standard for connected, walkable living while preserving the sense of community that has made it one of Cary's most sought-after neighborhoods.
